|In the last years the architectonical project has given much of the building envelope, here are some examples of amazing facades!
The Mexican architect Frida Ecobedo has reinvented a 1960 building as an art gallery. In the housing estate “La Tallera de Siqueiros” a cement block wall was built as a shell enveloping the buildings but letting the light to seep through at the same time. This project has been selected to participate to the 2014 Design prize.
The enlargement of the boutique by Paul Smith was designed basing it on the façade by 6a Architects design studio in London.
To build the façade they used cast iron, a common use material, but in this case it was used in a personal way as geometrical relief pattern got from hand made abstract drawings by the stylist. So cool!
