Are you ready for the most important design event of the year?! I almost ready with a planning full of beautiful things to see, I wonder if I’ll manage to do it all! Below are some tips on what you can’t miss at Fuorisalone 2017, see you there!

1- Doppia Firma
Where: Porta Venezia district, GAM Galleria d’Arte Moderna via Palestro 14

Last year edition of “Doppia Firma” exhibition was one of my favorite, you can take a look here.
The exhibition, curated by Living Corriere and Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte, marks the collaboration between designers and craftsmanship with 15 design pieces made from different materials. Among the designers are Zika Zupanc, Sebastian Herkner, Cristina Celestino and Emmanuel Babled.

2- Mindcraft exhibition
Where: Brera district, Chiostro di Minore di San Simpliciano Piazza San Simpliciano 7

Tenth birthday for Mindcraft, the event dedicated to the Danish design that this year will explore the theme of time. Eighteen Danish designers and craftsmen exhibit works created under the leadership of Henrik Vibskov.

3- Natural Talents
Where: San Babila, Museum Poldi Pezzoli Via Manzoni 12

The exhibition Natural Talents, organized by Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte and Creative Academy in collaboration with Studio Eligo, presents a collection of 40 objects made by the students with two ancient woodworking techniques.

4- Nendo at Jil Sander showroom
Where: Sant’Ambrogio district, Jill Sander Via Luca Beltrami 5

The Japanese designer Oki Sato, alias Nendo, arrives at the Jil Sander showroom with a series of innovations. Among others, do not miss Jellyfish Vases, a collection of silicone vases immersed in a water tank that investigates the concept of matter.

5- Ventura Centrale
Where: Central Station, Via Ferrante Aiporti 15

With the debut of the Ventura Central for the first time the Historic warehouses connected to the Central Station of Milan open to the public. There will be projects of Luca Nichetto, Ben Gorham, Maarten Baas, Lee Broom and Panter & Tourron (photo)

 

6- Foyer Gorani
Where: 5vie district, Piazza Gorani

Foyer Gorani, epicenter of 5VIE District, presents a selection by Federica Sala / PS targeted contemporary design talent, for the occasion called to tell their own production.

 

7- Palazzo Litta
Where: 5vie district, Corso Magenta 24

Mosca Partners and DAMN°magazine have joined forces to occupy Palazzo Litta during Milan Design Week, along with some of the main international players on the design stage. The exhibition “ A Matter of Perception” this year is dedicated to the theme Linking Minds and the exhibition “Belgium is Design”, with its eight editions, turn on a beacon on the Belgian design. The courtyard of the building will be reinvented by award-winning studio Diller Scofidio + Renfro.

 

8- Dutch Invertuals
Where: Isola district, Spazio ‘O Via Pastrengo 12

This year the Dutch collective Dutch Invertuals arrives from space ‘O. Ten designers will be confronted with the theme of change, imagining and recreating different scenarios, each of which will take place in a futuristic.

9- Superstudio
Where: Tortona district, Via Tortona 27

Superdesign Show, the exhibition project brainchild of Gisella Borioli with the artistic direction Carolina Nisivoccia, returns with a full-bodied calendar. At Superstudio’s spaces will be, among others, the works of Patricia Urquiola, Raw Edges, Luca Nichetto, Fabio Novembre and Tokujin Yoshioka.

 

10- Rossana Orlandi
Where: Sant’Ambrogio District, Via Matteo Bandello 10/14

The Rossana Orlandi gallery is confirmed as one of the most vibrant creative hub between the proposals of the Fuorisalone. A must for professionals, but also for those simply looking for a place where you can see many quality proposals in an amazing space!
